Environmental, social and governance (ESG)
ESG in practice
The Queensland Government is committed to taking quick and purposeful action to strengthen the state’s supply of critical minerals, while protecting and preserving our natural world.
Queensland’s resources industry has always operated within systems and laws that are designed to recognise our state’s unique natural qualities, heritage, communities and the needs of industries. As a result, Queensland’s resources industry has a strong economic and community legacy.
These robust regulatory frameworks provide a solid foundation for resources companies to establish strong corporate and social governance practices, which can be used to demonstrate their own ESG credentials.
As intelligence of our world improves and global expectations increase, so does our response. Australia and Queensland continue to review laws, find efficiencies, improve the integrity of partnerships between all stakeholders, and investigate better ways to find, mine, repurpose and re-use our critical minerals.
Our past actions and future commitments ensure resource companies and investors can confidently mitigate their investment risks and know that opportunities are abundant.
