Elena Belousova graduated with a BSc (Hons) in geology from Kiev State University, Ukraine in 1988. She obtained her PhD from Macquarie University, Sydney in 2000, studying the trace element signatures of zircon and apatite in a wide range of rock types and mineral deposits. From 2000–2021 she was employed as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer and then as Associate Professor in the GEMOC/CCFS ARC Centre at Macquarie University, Sydney. She is currently a principal geoscientist, minerals geoscience, Geological Survey of Queensland, Department of Resources.
